Thursday

A bit odd today. First a quick long trade, then a quick short trade.

Only counting the short one and that made 31 pips. The other made 15, but I don't count that.

Round and round,
up and down we go...

Target: 20 pips
Achieved: Yes (31 pips)

Wednesday

Wednesday was payday... yay. Well, not so much in pips as in my regular job. And when I receive the check I know why I want another income.
Still, running away isn't as good a motivator as running towards something.

Well, I got 35 pips in a quick  trade. Some announcement was made at the necessary time, and the trade was boosted.

If only every trade was like this...

Target: 20 pips
Achieved: Yes (35 pips)

A little action

A little action today. One trade was closed out due to a counter signal.
Well, the one in the image came through, although I had to cut it short since the market was closing.

Target: 20 pips
Achieved: No (16 pips)

Sometimes...

... my brain isn't functioning as it should.

I reported a loss the other day. What I did miss was the 'counter-signal', giving me a trade in the other direction. That trade would easily have been a winner with more than what I lost.

Sense moral(?): Don't trade and watch TV.

Thursday

Got a quick clean trade of 20 pips this evening.

Target: 20 pips
Achieved: Yes (20)

Here it was

The first loss for the year.
A small one, but still a loss. Looked like it was going in the right direction a while, but then decided to follow the trend.
Betting that the trend should change seems always harder than betting on the trend to continue.

Pretty close to a win,
but then the market continued upwards.

Target: 20 pips
Achieved: No (-15 pips)

One more notch

Today was a very good day, even though it was just 23 pips.
Why was that good?
Well, mostly because it was done in 15 minutes. Of course, I like trading so I don't mind extended periods of times of trading, but I like it when it jumps up to a win very quickly.
Could have stayed in and made at least another 30 pips or so, but that would have meant waiting for an hour or two, and I didn't feel like it.

 Going with the flow,
following the trend.

Target: 20 pips
Achieved: 23 pips

Martin Luther King

What does he have to do with trading?

Probably nothing, but it is Martin Luther King day in the US, and so, the S&P500 that I trade is closed today.
Darn holidays...

Back tomorrow, I hope.

Trending Friday

It seems like the market I trade trends about 50% of the time.
Now, this is normally not a bad thing. I just wish I could predict the trend - when it starts, and when it is about to end.
Well, the brilliant Nick is working on this, and we'll see what he comes up with.

Have a nice weekend!

Finally - Wed 11th

Well, after a long wait, it was finally time for a trade.
It won, and it gave me 20 pips.

Target: 20 pips
Achieved!

Sigh...

I didn't really get any trades today either. S&P500 is stalling, I suppose. Thinking about moving up or down...

Here are the last few days in a Candlestick chart.

I also got ready to install my new picture program, so I can write in the charts.
Has been annoying not being able to do that.

Monday 9th

A typical 'ranging' day.

No trends in any direction. No trades for me.
Of course, there could have been trades, by reading the candlesticks and watching the S&R's, but that is not how I roll. At least not yet.

Holiday

Looked at the charts a few days ago, but they aren't acting normally. I blame the holidays.

I assume they'll be back to normal on monday. Won't risk my hard earned cash before that.
